Countries that opened borders to study in 2021 and 2022

After a time marked by COVID - 19, the world closed its borders affecting thousands of students who with their suitcase and dreams had to stay in their country while waiting for a new border opening.

After the arrival of vaccines, many countries have begun to relax their restrictions and under certain conditions open borders for the arrival of students to their countries.

Here we tell you which countries have begun to receive students and what conditions are in force for their admission.

1. UNITED STATES:

It is one of the countries with the greatest flexibility and guarantees the entry of its students, if you plan to get there, this is what you should know:

  • Have a valid visa

  • You must present a negative PCR test no longer than 72 hours and have completed the vaccination schedule.

  • If your study program is less than 12 weeks (3 months) and the number of study hours is less than 18, you can enter with a tourist visa, it is important to know that in order to enter you must have a letter of acceptance from the school and the place where you are going to stay.

  • If your study program is longer than 12 weeks (3 months), you must apply and enter with a student visa, if you want more information contact one of our advisors.

  • Some of the states will have classes in Hybrid mode depending on the contagion curve and percentage. of vaccination, however there is no problem with entering the country.

 

2. CANADA:

Canada has been one of the countries that has taken the advantage over many others in terms of opening borders, as of October 20 the borders were opened for students, this is what you should know:

  • Have a valid student visa.

  • Have the acceptance letter from the school or university you are going to enter (important to note that the chosen Institution has a DLI number issued by the government of Canada).

  • You must present a negative PCR test no longer than 72 hours before taking your flight and have completed the vaccination schedule. Travelers who are vaccinated must present the digital certificate and documents that support their vaccination. These must have a certified translation in English or French. The endorsed vaccines are: Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca and Jassen. .

  • No need to quarantine.

3. MALTA:

Malta from August 9 opened its borders for its students, however this is what you should know:

  • Valid passport

  • You must present a negative PCR test no longer than 72 hours and have completed the vaccination schedule. Travelers who are vaccinated must present the digital certificate and documents that support their vaccination.

  • Travelers with authorized entry who have a valid vaccination certificate are exempt from quarantine. Children under the age of 5 are exempt from meeting travel requirements.
